Media on Mac

I had huge problems playing different media files on my Mac. For example DivX files played without sound. After installing everything seams to work a little better. A little astonishing that a machine that is designed for media needs media plugins. But never mind it works fine now.

Yes, Perian is a must for OS X, particularly if you have many DivX movies. In addition, I always install the Flip4Mac plugin ( to allow decent WMV (etc) playback from within Quicktime.
